Ad-dicted to smoking

Public Health Awareness Advertisements are always difficult to rate and create because their message is normally one that isn't to do with selling a product but to improving someone's lifestyle and actually helping them. I would argue that the messages in these public information campaigns are the most important messages in any of today's campaigns.
Anti-Smoking Campaigns seems to be where the UK government spends the vast majority of it's advertising budget. Over the years they have released some creative campaigns as well as some controversial ad's.

Product Placement

As I'm sure you may have heard, product placement is, from the 28th of February, going to be allowed on British Television. If I'm honest I haven't worked out whether I'm happy about this or not.
I suppose we should can only weigh up whether this advertising will be intruding into our homes or not by looking across the pond.

This is the logo that will have to be shown in one of the corners of the screen to denote that there will be product placement in the upcoming program.

Violets are Red, Adverts are Blue

As Valentine's Day draws ever closer uncertainty creeps in. Will they have a date for the 14th of February. Will they be lonely on the 14th. However there is one thing they can be sure of. They will see many advertisements targeting this day and the frankly insane amount of money that is spent treating your significant other. Here is a selection of some advertisements that really stood out for me, not necessarily for the good reasons.

Let's talk about Super Bowl XLV

Being based in London, Super Bowl XLV was shown rather late here and to make matters worse it was televised on the BBC. A brilliant, long-running institution, that prides itself in its ability to not be driven by advertising revenue. This is not normally a problem, however once a year this is a major inconvenience. No Commercials!

So here is my rundown of some of the advertisements that graced most American's television sets last night.
